The Bobble Army Takes Over Brands Hatch
The final round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB at Brands Hatch wasn’t just a racing highlight for me, it was also an incredible weekend for the Bobble Army. The turnout was absolutely mind-blowing, and I can’t thank everyone enough for coming together to make this event so special. From the electric atmosphere to the debut of our first-ever Bobble Army Track Walk, the weekend was full of unforgettable moments.
The Bobble Army Track Walk: A Unique Motorsport Experience
The idea behind the Bobble Army Track Walk was simple—get everyone together for a unique experience that would bring us closer to the action we all love. Walking around a quiet race track is something few people ever get to do, and for motorsport fans like us, it’s a chance to see the circuit in a whole new light. The atmosphere on Saturday night was incredible—there was this strange, peaceful calm as we walked the track, especially around the famous Paddock Hill Bend. And let me tell you, everyone was blown away by how steep that corner really is when you’re walking it!
The turnout was fantastic. We had fans traveling from across the country just to be a part of this moment. Watching everyone carefully make their way down Paddock Hill Bend was a sight to behold—no one quite expected it to be that steep!
A Community Like No Other
Throughout the weekend, I couldn’t help but feel proud every time I saw the sea of orange bobble hats in the stands. Their support truly means the world to me. What we’ve built with the Bobble Army isn’t just a fanbase, it’s a community. Each of us has faced, or is facing, different struggles, but motorsport brings us together. The orange bobble hat isn’t just a fun piece of headwear, it’s a symbol of unity and resilience. And it’s also our way of honoring the marshals, the unsung heroes of motorsport, who keep us all safe.
A Special Thanks to Ian Chicken, Russ Mead, and Ross Wakefield
There are a few people I want to give a special shoutout to for making the Bobble Army what it is today. First, a huge thank you to Ian Chicken, who was the heart and soul of the paddock this weekend. Ian led the charge with the Bobble Army flag, marching through the paddock and creating a scene that was truly unforgettable. It was like watching an army in motion, and Ian, you made the entire experience even more special with your enthusiasm and leadership. Thank you for everything you do to keep the spirit of the Bobble Army alive!
Next, I have to recognise two key people behind the Bobble Army’s creation: Russ Mead and Ross Wakefield. These two have been instrumental from the very beginning. In fact, it was Russ and Ross who came up with the idea back in 2021, and since then, the Bobble Army has grown beyond what any of us could have imagined. Their passion and vision have been driving forces behind this community, and I’m incredibly grateful to them for not only being close friends but also being the masterminds behind the movement. Thank you, Russ and Ross—your contributions are invaluable, and I can’t wait to see where we take this next!

A Community That’s Just Getting Started
The energy and spirit of the Bobble Army is truly something special, and I love seeing how this community continues to grow. What started as a fun idea has turned into something much bigger, something that brings people together through a shared love of motorsport and the camaraderie that comes with it.
I believe we’re still in the early days of what the Bobble Army can become, and I’m so excited for the future. From the track walk to the support in the stands, this weekend at Brands Hatch felt like a celebration of everything we’ve built together. I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for being a part of this journey.
To those who made it out to Brands Hatch, thank you for your incredible support! And to those who couldn’t be there, we know you were cheering us on from wherever you were.
